Rachel Barton talks about her instrument

I bought my violin in 2006 when Yann Besson was exhibiting his instruments at a chamber music festival in Manchester. I had tried hundreds of instruments, searching for a violin that could produce a warm, deep sound without being muffled, as well as good clarity and power without being overly bright. I found that Yann Besson's violin had all of this and much more. It is the perfect combination of richness in the bass and a velvety treble, avoiding the harsh colors of so many new instruments. The response is immediate and precise. The sound of my violin has developed beautifully over the years of playing, and I am truly delighted with it. I am also very pleased with Yann's after-sales service. Unlike some other luthiers, he takes great care to maintain contact with his instruments. It is exceptional after-sales service for an exceptional instrument. I couldn't be happier with my choice of a Yann Besson violin.
