Joel Sundin, born in Sweden in 1964, began playing early music at the age of 16 at the Latin High School in Södra. In 1988, he earned a Master of Fine Arts (violin) from the Academy. He has played with the Umeå Symphony Orchestra and the Länsmusik String Quartet, and continued his studies with Jaap Schröder.
Joel Sundin regularly performs with Concerto Copenhagen, Rebaroque, the Drottningholms Teaterorkester, Barocksolisterne, Theatre of Voices and Trio Vivace. He has recorded for Decca, Harmonia Mundi, Deutsche Grammophon, CPO, Dacapo, ECM, Proprius, Naxos and with Helicon as a soloist.
