Clun Valley Chamber Music

Chamber music festival, international artists

Created by violist Luba Tunnicliffe and cellist Richard Tunnicliffe, and taking advantage of the beautiful acoustics of St George's Church, the Clun Valley Music Festival has established itself to invite internationally renowned musicians to the Clun Valley to promote high-quality classical music performances.

With the 2020 season having to be postponed, a generous initiative emerged online. The six Bach cello suites, performed by organizers Luba and Richard, were recorded during the summer and made available online below.

We would like to thank Sue Dowell for the use of her beautiful barn for these recordings, and also Yann Besson , the wonderful luthier whose viola and cello you shall hear throughout this series.

Note: Richard Tunnicliffe 's cello was created in 2018 and Luba Tunnicliffe 's viola in 2019.
