Anne Derex

After earning a gold medal in viola in Nathalie Poulet's class and another in chamber music in Pascal Proust's class at the Montreuil Conservatory, Anne pursued advanced studies with Michel Michalakakos in Boulogne. She discovered an early passion for teaching and orchestral playing and obtained her State Diploma after two years of pedagogical training at the CESMD of Poitou-Charentes. She teaches viola at the Montreuil Departmental Conservatory and the Bagnolet Municipal Conservatory (93). An orchestral musician (Colonne, Sinfonia Pop Orchestra) and chamber musician, she also accompanies several pop/rock artists on tour (Mademoiselle K, Florent Dorin, Cecilem). Anne joined the Ensemble DodéKa in 2023.

She is equally drawn to music and theatre and regularly tries to bridge the gap between her two passions. With a doctorate in Performing Arts from the universities of Caen and Florence, she is also an actress and director of musical shows (eclectic concerts with Ensemble des Possibles, assistant to Benjamin Lazar on Strauss's opera Ariadne auf Naxos with the ensemble Le Balcon, Offenbach's Le Voyage dans la lune with the ensemble Oya Képhalé, Zut et le voleur de clés de piano , a musical show for children that has been touring since 2016…). It is therefore quite natural that Anne focuses on raising awareness among her students about the musician's stage presence in her viola teaching.

Anne Derex has been playing a viola made by Yann Besson since 2011.
